KEEP IT REAL

Our project "Keep It Real" is an infusion of street and African dancing, drumming and drama after school club. This a free membership and participation service, for the young people ranging from the ages of 5 to 13 and supervisory roles from 14 to 16 years every Tuesday and Thursday during school term times from 5pm to 7pm which is currently taking place at the St Chads Church Hall in South Norwood area. The project has been running for over a year and is gaining popularity and increase in participating members. We support young people to have better life chances by providing free regular activities that build confidence, self-worth, physical wellbeing and a sense of cultural awareness in the community through drumming and dancing. Drumming and Dancing are fun, physical activities that distract people from whatever is bothering them. It can even be meditative and induce a relaxing mental state. The youth therefore, have opportunities to safe and fun environments, where they meet and learn with other youth from different cultures.
